Challenge

daily.dev had a strong product but needed a visual brand that could keep up with its ambitions - one that felt genuinely developer-native, not like a generic tech startup. My role was to build and maintain that brand across every touchpoint: marketing, product launches, campaigns, community features, and the website.

My role was to build and maintain that brand across every touchpoint: marketing, product launches, campaigns, community features, and the website.

Product Hunt Launch

One of my first major projects was the Product Hunt launch. Within a couple of weeks I designed and animated the full suite of launch visuals, building everything around a space theme that felt bold and distinctive. The campaign won the Golden Kitty Award for Best Community Product one of Product Hunt's most prestigious recognitions.

Campaigns & Marketing

I created a wide range of campaign materials that became part of daily.dev's visual identity:

I created a wide range of campaign materials that became part of daily.dev's visual identity:

Changelog covers

Each major product update needed its own visual moment. For the Feed Algorithm v5, I created an isometric 3D illustration communicating the improved content pipeline making a technical update feel exciting and tangible for developers.

Email designs

I designed recurring email templates, year-in-review visuals, and event-specific layouts and built Figma generators so the team could produce consistent assets at speed without starting from scratch every time.

Event covers

I designed cover visuals for daily.dev's regular community events, giving each one a distinct identity while staying true to the broader brand.

Sticker designs

Community campaigns were a big part of daily.dev's culture. I designed stickers and promotional materials for giveaways.

Deploy responsibly beer glass

The most fun thing I made at daily.dev. A beer glass for developers, with a warning line and the message "do not deploy past this point." It became a beloved community object the kind of thing only a designer who truly understood the audience could come up with.

Command + eat pet bowl

As a dog mum myself, I designed this for the developer community's pet owners a bowl with "⌘ + EAT" on it. Simple, nerdy, perfect. It showed that daily.dev understood its community beyond just the code.

Squads & Website Branding

When daily.dev introduced Squads a groups feature allowing members to share posts with like-minded developers I built the visual identity for each squad from scratch. The challenge was creating diverse, distinctive brandings that felt completely separate from daily.dev's own brand while still living within the same ecosystem. I had full creative freedom, which I loved.

Beyond the branding, I also designed several of daily.dev's marketing pages in Figma and brought them to life directly in Webflow giving me end-to-end ownership from concept through to live code.

Responsibilities included building squad brands from scratch, cover image and logo design, creating post templates, building a Figma generator for the team to use at scale, and web design and development in Webflow.

Impact

During my time at daily.dev I was part of the team through the $11M Series A raise, contributing to a brand that was growing to over 1 million developers worldwide. The Product Hunt launch I designed won the Golden Kitty Award for Best Community Product - one of the most recognised accolades in the developer tools space. Beyond the launches and campaigns, the Figma systems and generators I built gave the team the ability to produce consistent, on-brand assets at scale without starting from scratch every time.
